Sushant is a student of Literature and cultural studies. He has recently submitted his PhD dissertation titled “The Performative Politics of Ethnocultural Nationalism in India: Thespian and Quotidian Performances of Hindu Nationalism”. The dissertation, based on an extensive ethnographic fieldwork with organizations of the Hindu Right, explores the stylized and embodied mimetic, poetic and kinetic configurations of Hindu Nationalism. He is currently working on narratives of ethnicity and identity at the intersection of nationalism and cosmopolitanism in South Asian Urban fiction.
